Morskie Oko

This picturesque wooden shelter resembles a classic villa in the Zakopane style. It's located on the shores of the legendary lake Morskie Oko ('The Eye of the Sea'). The shelter is 1404 metres above sea level, but it's one of the easiest to reach of all the shelters. Much to the dismay of nature-lovers there is even an asphalt track leading to the lake these days. However, the landscape itself more than makes up for this minus. And some of the trails that lead on from the lake are spectacular, with Mount Mnich (the Monk) offering exciting challenges for mountaineers. The shelter can sleep about 89 hikers. |
