Murowaniec

This mountain hostel is a key starting point for exploring some of the highest stretches of the Tatra range. It's located in a glorious pre-war building that looks like something out of a fantasy novel. Rooms come in everything from cosy doubles to big fat dorms of 10-12 people. They can sleep as many as 116 hikers in all, but if you're the 117th guest you needn't worry as it's the mountain custom to never turn away travellers. It'll cost you about 30 zloty per person, and you can have your luggage looked after during the day for a two zloty surcharge. The hostel has a well-stocked restaurant where you set yourself up for the day's adventures.

This is one of the nicest places I've ever stayed. I stayed for two nights two years ago and I'll never ever forget the hot chocolate served in the restaurant! Lovely! Beautiful location and a beautiful building. Its well equiped and cosy. Well worth the stay.
