Polish President 'Statesman of 2005'
Aleksander Kwasniewski has received the award of the prestigious European weekly European Voice as statesman of the year 2005.T he Polish head of state has been honoured for his input into the peaceful solution of the so called Orange Revolution in Ukraine.
Receiving the award, president Kwasniewski said that the Orange Revolution was a victory of the Ukrainian nation. Among the candidates to the European Voice award were British premier Tony Blair, former German chancellor Gerhard Schroeder and the Belgian prime minister Jean Claude Juncker.
