Glorious Speedway Victory for Poland

 

Poland were crowned World Speedway Champions after storming to a home victory in Wroclaw. The Poles won with 62 points ahead of Sweden who were second on 34 and Denmark, who finished third with 31.

An injury-hit Great Britain finished fourth on 27 points, with Lee Richardson top-scoring with 12.

Poland's Tomas Gollob led the scoring with 14 points as Jarek Hampel and Piotr Protasiewicz notched 13, while Andreas Jonsson scored 12 for Sweden.
