Unemployment in Poland has dropped to 18 per cent from 18.3 in May. Still, according to the figures released by the General Statistical office, 2 million 800 thousand professionally active people remain jobless. People aged between 25 and 34 constitute the most numerous group of the unemployed – 30 per cent. While unemployment is a major problem, mainly in north-eastern and north-western Poland, there are branches, such as construction industry, which lack qualified labour force. Despite decreasing unemployment, Poland continues to be among those EU member states where this indicator is the highest. |
