Eighteen Poles are still missing Monday after last week's bomb attack on London, Poland's Foreign Minister Adam Daniel Rotfeld confirmed Monday.
Speaking to Polish radio, Rotfeld said there were no intelligence signals indicating Poland was in immediate threat of a terror attack. But he noted that despite having one of the best intelligence services in the world, the Thursday bombings took Britain by surprise.
More than 50 people died and hundreds were injured in the attack which saw bombs go off in three London Underground carriages and one double-decker bus.
Alongside Britain, Spain and Italy, Poland was among the strongest supporters of the U.S.-led invasion and occupation of Iraq. Military involvement in Iraq is thought to have been a factor in the terror attacks on both Madrid in 2004 and last week's attack on London.
