A group of 30 participants in the Peking to Paris car rally are crossing the Polish-German border in Kostrzyn on the Oder. They are travelling in four replicas of automobiles that date from the times of the original race, whilst one team has commandeered a vintage motorcycle with a side car. The enthusiasts from Australia, New Zealand and the Netherlands are covering the same 16 thousand kilometre route as the 1907 rally. They started out from Peking on May 15th and are hoping to reach the French capital by July 13th.
