A Polish no-frills start up is launching flights between Stansted and Warsaw.
Airpolonia plans to start flying the route on 15 December. It says return fares will start at £50 including tax, and one way fares will start from £10 plus tax. The carrier will compete with LOT Polish Airlines and British Airways on the Warsaw route.
The airline also plans to fly direct to the industrial and business regions of Poznan and Katowice, and says more routes will be announced soon. A spokesperson said the destinations were the equivalent of Manchester and Birmingham to England, in terms of size and importance.
Airpolonia is privately owned and financed by a group of Polish businesspeople. Vice president and chief executive, Jan Litwinski said: “The fares announced add a ground breaking change to air travel between the two countries.
