An opinion poll released in Poland Tuesday suggested the ruling Democratic Left Alliance enjoyed the support of just 8 percent of voters.

The CBOS poll put the center-right Civic Platform in the lead with 27 percent support. The rightist Law and Justice Party, a potential partner in government with Civic Platform, came in second with 17 percent support.

With elections in Poland expected in next spring, analysts say the poll's findings make it almost certain the current leftist government of Prime Minister Marek Belka will be replaced by a rightist administration.

The poll put support for the populist Self-Defense Party at 10 percent.

The poll was conducted among a representative sample of Polish adults Nov. 5-8.

Support for the government has been hit by mass unemployment and a string of corruption scandals.
