An official poll has revealed that a third of Poles still believe the country to be not entirely free.

In the telephone survey, some 35% of those questioned claimed that Poland was still not fully independent. The high figure surprised analysts.

When questioned on what they believed were the greatest threats to freedom, many respondents cited the European Union.

500 people were questioned in the survey, which was conducted for the Rzeczpospolita newspaper.
