Drunk Skiers Let Off The Hook

A new bill aimed at curbing alcohol-related accidents in sports has been amended to allow skiers greater freedom.

According to the act, those caught inebriated - be they swimmers, canoeists or sailors - will face a 600 euro fine. Likewise, the sale of alcohol in sports centres is set to be prohibited.

However, skiers and snowboarders can continue to drink until their cup overfloweth, in spite of alcohol being a common cause of accidents on the slopes.

Skiers were reportedly let off the hook as both the Mountain Volunteer Rescue Service (GOPR) and owners of ski-lifts verified that they would not back the new law.
