After a year and a half long trial, a man from the Southern Polish village of Mikowice has been cleared of kicking his neighbour's bucket.
Following an appeal by the defendant, the case has been thrown out of court.
The bizarre yet bitter legal saga began in the spring of 2009, when Waldemar J. was initially taken to court. His neighbour claimed that he had kicked a bucket so hard that it had landed in a bush opposite their block of flats.
The accused called for experiments to be carried out to determine whether a kick could indeed damage a bucket. An expert in such matters declared that this was indeed possible. Nevertheless, the defendant argued that the damage was done on another occasion, providing video footage of bucket abuse. yet the appeal judge has decided that the case is too absurd to consider.
