Poles Set Their Sights On Mars
A group of Polish inventors has constructed a robot that's intended for action on Mars. Dubbed "Skarabeusz" by the Warsaw students who made the machine, the robotic vehicle is currently being tested in the Utah deserts to see if it's up to the job of trekking across Martian land.
The creators add that Skarabeusz can carry a human being weighing up to 100 kg, but as of yet, no one has signed up for the job of martian guinea pig.
Several teams of inventors have taken part in the competition to create the Mars robot. And if the Poles manage to pull through, Skarabeusz could be blasted into space in the near future.
As of yet, scientists have yet to prove that there is significant life on Mars, much to David Bowie's disappointment. However, in Mars Attacks, film director Tim Burton revealed that if malicious martians do appear, they could well be terminated by American Country and Western music. Perhaps Skarabeusz should pack some Dolly Parton.
