The bid to track down one of Poland's most high level intelligence officers has still not thrown up any clues.
Stefan Zielonka was declared missing by his wife - who also works for the secret service - on April 19th. Mr Zielonka had been suffering from depression, and indeed, he had become estranged from his wife, even though they continued to share the same flat.
Owing to Mr. Zielonka's unique knowledge of military secrets, there has been a considerable rumpus in the Polish press. Theories that he might have been abducted by a foreign agency - or that he might have crossed over to the other side - have all been bandied about. Suicide has also been discussed.
It is known that Mr.Zielonka had a substantial quantity of money in his private bank account. However, since April 19th the account has remained untouched.
