Zakopane's much-loved cable car will be back in business this season. After months and months of fiddling around, the revamped line is poised for action. The cable car, originally raised in the 1930s, takes you to the top of the famed Kasprowy Wierch mountain.

In the olden days, the journey took about 30 minutes, which was pleasant for bird-watchers but not exactly practical. The new look cable car will manage the ride in 12 minutes, and what's more, each car will be able to take double the number of passengers. The official opening for the cable car is pencilled in for 15th December.
