They'd written him off two years ago, but Polish ski-jumper Adam Malysz has confounded them all this weekend by becoming World Champion once again.
Unlike in so many sports when you have just one shot at gold, ski-jumpers have to notch up a Herculean array of successes if they are to clinch the World Title. This year's championship took in thirty competitions around the globe. And it was a nail-biting finish for Malysz, whose form rose in a crescendo as he gained on leader Anders Jacobsen from Norway. Indeed, it wasn't until the last weekend of the entire cup that Malysz took the lead - sealing his fourth season win. This weekend's triumph makes Malysz the most titled ski-jumper in the history of the World Cup. Lec Zloty Adamie!!
