The biggest event of the winter calendar, the Ski-Jump World Cup 2006, touches down in Zakopane this weekend, as the town prepares to witness an epic battle of the skies.

The World's best ski-jumpers will be arriving in Poland's winter capital, donning their most-fetching pair of lycra leggings, and soaring through the air further than man was ever supposed to travel. All for national pride!

Representing Poland's hopes for glory is the diminutive, but talented Adam Malysz. The three times World Cup winner, dubbed 'the flying moustache' or 'the Polish batman', is amongst the favourites once again - not least because of a decent run of form and home-field advantage. The winter sports equivalent of Jerzy Dudek, Malysz enjoys the fanatical support of his countrymen keen to see Poland impress on the World stage.

The action will take place on Wielka Krokiew Jumping Hill HS-134 on Saturday 28th January and Sunday 29th.
