Gold For Polish Ski-Surfer

 

Jagna Marczulaitis of Poland edged Daniela Meuli of Switzerland to win the parallel slalom event at a snowboarding World Cup on Sunday.

Sara Fischer of Sweden took the bronze.

Kimiko Zakreski of Calgary was the top Canadian in 17th, missing the top-16 cut by 0.12 seconds.

''It was very close,'' said Zakreski. ''It was my World Cup parallel slalom debut and I posted my best ever World Cup result overall.''

Simon Schoch of Switzerland defeated compatriot Roland Haldi to win the men's final. Nicolas Huet of France took the bronze.

  Philippe Berube of Pierrefonds, Que., was 36th in the preliminaries.
