Polish Countess Meets Big Brother
A Polish Countess whose father once led Radio Free Europe has taken her place in Britain's notorious Celebrity Big Brother House.
Rula Lenska (b.1947, Cambridge), an actress, has appeared in many well known British TV sitcoms, including Minder, Boon, Doctor Who and Casualty. One of her most memorable roles was as the satanic Abbess Morgwyn of Ravenscar in 80s series Robin of Sherwood. It was a part that terrified youngsters across Britain. More recently she made a cameo appearance as Frank Butcher's Costa del Sol squeeze in the ever popular Eastenders, whilst in December she joined the London Gay Men's Chorus for their smash Christmas Show 'Make the Yuletide Gay.'
The current edition of Celebrity Big Brother began this week, and the eccentric Countess is pitted against a spicy mix of outspoken politicians, glamour models, transvestites, and down on their luck TV presenters. The Countess has so far been spotted engaged in Buddhist prayer chants, in which she was joined by the feisty model Jodie Marsh. The early odds on Lenska winning are 33/1.
Asked why she had submitted herself to the torture of reality television, Lenska replied: ' I'm a crazy Polish Countess who likes a challenge.'
