Zakopane - Poland's winter capital, is a must-see for pretty much anyone visiting the Malopolska region of the country. In the summer, hoards of tourists beat the forest paths, eat too much and buy too many souvenirs, as well as marvel at the extraordinary natural beauty of the mountains. In the winter, fans of the magic white stuff pour in to enjoy the winter wonderland. Thanks to all this, the town and region are alive all year round - but it does have its down side, one of which is finding a place to stay without booking ahead!
