International Festival of Mountain Music

The beautiful Carpathian mountain range stretches a massive 1500km, touching the borders of many different European countries such as Poland, Romania, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine, Austria, Serbia, and northern Hungary. From these mountains hail many distinct peoples, each with their own culture, traditions, history and language. The International Festival of Mountain Music is a celebration of these different cultures that takes place right here in Zakopane. The festival was first organised by Marek Jenner in 1984 and it is he who continues to drive the event forward with help from famous Podhale musician and architect Jasiek Karpiel Bułecka. Share their love of mountain culture this 8th and 9th September by catching some of the different concerts and events taking place. The festival centres around the area of Dolna Równa Krupowa, with action spilling out into the Highland restaurants on Krupowki street.
