Tatra Wici

In July and August, on the territory of Powiatu Tatrzanskiego a series of outdoor parties will take place under the name 'Tatra Wici' ('Tatra Meeting'). The event will involve a presentation of the culture and art of the Podhala region in a modern way. Folk artists, concerts, contests, and many other attractions will take place!

VI International Festival of Organ Music

Traditionally, on the first Saturday of vacation the inaugural concert of the Organ Festival takes place in the Church of the Holy Family on Krupowki Street. Although this event is fairly new, it’s already become one of the most important cultural events in Zakopane during the summer. And so organ music, as played by first-class artists from Poland and abroad, will be filling the air every weekend evening until the 17th of August, when the Organ Festival will pass its torch to the XXXIX International Festival of Mountain Folklore. The concerts will feature distinguished international and Polish organists from many cities, playing both famous pieces as well as lesser known, by many an esteemed composer.

Mountain Meetings

The 'Mountain Meetings' concert, part of the Organ Music Festival, will feature the group Andrzej Brandstatter and Friends. Brandstatter is a highlander writer and lyricist, and the creator of the group 'Krywan i Hawran', which has won many festival awards. At the moment Andrzej Brandstatter is fighting serious illness in the form of multiple sclerosis, though with constant improvements. Though he can no longer play, he’s still singing strongly, and writing lyrics as well. This will be his third performance in Zakopane this year.

IV All-Polish Summer Percussion Workshops

This summer’s Percussion Workshops will be led by renowned jazz musicians – Bernard Maseli, Cezary Konrad, and Nippy Noya. The courses are meant for graduates and students of music academies or other music schools. Under the watchful eyes of the instructors, the students will improve their abilities and work on their interpretation of certain pieces. The workshops will take place in three groups: mallet percussion instruments (Bernard Maseli), percussion instruments (Nippy Noya), and drum sets (Cezary Konrad).

Summer with Radio 1

A party will take place at Rownia Krupowa, organized by Polish Radio 1. Like in previous years, there will be contests with prizes, games for the little ones, as well as big name concerts all night.
