VII International Festival of Organ Music

Balancing out the more far out flavours of the Tatra Inspirations Festival is this charming annual event. Kicking off in July at Zakopane's grandest house of worship, the Church of the Holy Family, the International Festival of Organ Music will be presenting some classics and lesser known gems from the organist's repertoire. Outstanding musicians from Poland and abroad will be pumping out tunes on the pipes throughout June and July.

Tatra Inspirations 2008

This two day music fest presents music inspired by Poland's Highland traditions. Sounds fairly run-of-the-mill you might think. But prepare for some surprises. Ever heard any Folk Dub? Or Highland Hip Hop? We thought not! The festival will be bringing together some fantastically unusual fruits, not least famed local outfit Trebunie Tutki, who'll be joined by bone fide rastafarians the Twinkle Brothers, all the way from Jamaica. Also starring in the fest will be Psio Crew, with they ballistic blend of folk, electro, hip-hop and drum 'n' bass. Polish/ Norwegian band De Press is also taking part, plus bestselling Polish groups Brathanki and Zakopower. All in all, well worth checking out.
