Karczma Kmicic

When you've come in from the snow, after another hard day on the slopes, what better place could you chose to eat than a traditional Goral restaurant, complete with roaring hearth? Coax those icy digits back to life, whilst you wait for your traditional Highland supper to be delivered by those men in the funny hats. It won't be long before you're tucking in to a dish so large that it could sustain an entire African country for a week, and discussing the runs, falls, jumps, crashes and near misses of your skiing exploits. Of course after a couple of beers that green run will have turned into a sheer precipice and that light cloud an impenetrable mist - but that's half the fun!

We had an incredible meal here. I don;t think I have ever eaten so much in my life! Definitely happy to recommend!

Kmicic is NOT in the town centre! It's round the corner from my favourite hotel/pension, Wanta. When it's open it's a great place, but I've stayed in August a couple of times and it's been closed most evenings for some reason. Having said that, some of the other reviews are pretty recent, so perhaps things are looking up :)

swietna karczma, bylam tam z grupa przyjaciol i wszyscy byli zadowoleni !!!!! miesa pierwsza klasa, cudna atmosfera, i muzyka oczywiscie goralska. Pozdrawiam zakopane ! z wroclawia, napewno jeszcze tu wrocimy : )

Very, very good food indeed, and friendly service too! We tried lots of restaurants during our stay, and all agreed this was probably the pick of the lot. But you've got to have a BIG appetite to eat all this highlander food!! How do all these Polish guys and gals stay so slim???? Beats me!
