Kornel Makuszynski Museum

|
Kornel Makusznyski (1884-1953) is one of Poland's best-loved children's authors. His biggest smash was a charming tale about the adventures of a little goat called Matolek. It's a Polish classic, and it's as loved here as current hit Harry Potter is in the States. If you go down to the little wooden graveyard (which is about as magical a place as any author could hope to end up) you'll find Kornel's grave decorated by all kinds of mementos from Polish kids. This museum recaptures the atmosphere of Makuszynski's residence at this house. He eventually settled here in 1934, and he was made an honorary citizen of the town. Besides all kinds of paraphernalia relating to life, there are also works of art by famous artists such as Wyspianski.
